Shipper/Receiver & Delivery/Installation Support – Flexible Part-Time / Contract

Conval-Aid is a locally owned home healthcare company that has been serving the Ottawa community for 50 years.
We are currently looking for a reliable, mechanically inclined individual to provide part-time or contract support with installations, deliveries, and shipping/receiving.
We can offer flexibility with both days and hours. The position could consist of a few full days per week, shorter days, or another weekday daytime schedule depending on availability and our operational needs.
Installation Experience
A key part of this position is assisting with the installation of home safety and healthcare equipment in clients' homes.
Experience installing grab bars, particularly drilling and installing into ceramic or porcelain tile, would be highly valued. We are especially interested in candidates who have experience with this type of work and understand proper drilling, anchoring and safe installation practices.
Experience in renovations, construction, general contracting, property maintenance, handyman work or a similar hands-on trade would be very relevant to this position.
Other installations may include:
- Floor-to-ceiling transfer poles
- Hospital beds
- Bathroom safety equipment
- Other home healthcare and accessibility equipment
Training will be provided on our specific products and installation procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
The position will also provide support in other areas as required, including:
- Shipping and receiving
- Organizing incoming equipment and inventory
- Preparing outgoing orders
- General warehouse organization
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
- Deliveries and pickups throughout Ottawa
- Assisting with hospital bed deliveries and installations
- Supporting our regular delivery and installation team
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced and confident using hand and power tools
- Comfortable drilling and completing installations through tile
- Mechanically inclined with strong practical skills
- Dependable and able to work independently
- Careful and attentive to detail when working in clients' homes
- Physically able to lift and move equipment
- Comfortable driving a larger vehicle such as a Ford Transit
- Professional and courteous when dealing with customers
- Flexible and willing to assist in different areas as required
A valid driver's licence and clean driving record are required.
Previous healthcare experience is not required. Relevant installation, renovation, maintenance or trades experience is more important, and training will be provided on our equipment and procedures.

- Part-time / contract
