Fleet Supervisor - Kelowna
Commercial Logistics Inc. is an asset-based carrier providing LTL and FTL service throughout British Columbia. We are a part of ContainerWorld Forwarding Services Inc, and part of the Mullen Group, a publicly traded company on the TSX.
Position: Fleet Supervisor
Work Location: Kelowna
Hours: Monday – Friday 6:00 am to 2:30pm - Hours will vary to meet operational needs during peak seasons and/or to cover vacations.
Wage: $ 65000-68000
Position Overview:
Working independently with guidance from the Branch Manager as required, coordinates, directs the activities and is responsible for efficiency and effectiveness of DSD drivers to efficiently maintain service levels for transportation operations. Provides leadership to the direct delivery team, while providing input on policies for all areas for CLI Kelowna. The position has considerable impact on the efficient operations of own and some other areas, and has moderate impact on the organization’s long-term success.
Job Responsibilities:

Supervises operational activity of the DSD Fleet

Ensures delivery schedule is maintained

Creates and/or approves daily routing plan

Monitors daily driver’s logs and maintains accurate records of equipment and labor costs and report

Ensures compliance with transport and vehicle regulations

Approves driver payroll and vendor expenses

Manpower planning and scheduling to ensure proper staffing levels.

Ensure compliance to policies, practices and performance and taking corrective actions as required.

Assists in overseeing customer service activity in the Region.

Provides backup/support and vacation coverage for Operations Supervisors and Branch Manager as required.
Required Skills:
-
Specialist certificate/diploma plus 2 to 3 years experience; or at least 4 to 6 years related experience

Lift Truck Certification is required but can be provided post employment.

Level 1 First Aid Certificate is required but can be provided post employment.

Understanding of Transportation regulations and familiarity with transport equipment specifications and applications.

Experience with business management systems (i.e. Transportation Management System, Warehouse Management System ) is an asset

Class 1 Direct Delivery experience is an asset.
The successful candidate must have strong computer skills, able to work independently with judgment to make decisions and problem solve. We have a busy operation and this individual must be comfortable working within a fast-paced warehouse/trucking environment with tight deadlines.
