Recreation Aide (Rec) | Long-Term Care | Kelowna, BC

$29.82/hour | Full-Time, Part-Time & Casual | Days, Evenings

The Opportunity

Mission Creek Landing is one of Kelowna's most established long-term care communities, nestled in a park-like setting beside Mission Creek Regional Park. For over 45 years, we've provided a safe, dignified home for seniors who can no longer live independently.

Now, we're entering our biggest chapter yet. We're expanding from 132 to 242 beds in Summer 2026 with new state-of-the-art equipment, and we're looking for Recreation Aides who want to grow with us.

This is more than a staffing call. It's a chance to help shape the culture, the care standards, and the team of a brand-new wing within a trusted community.

What Your Days Will Look Like

Leading group and one-on-one activities
Encouraging resident participation
Documenting attendance and progress
Participating in special events and outings
Transporting residents to and from activities
Collaborate with other disciplines to support a holistic approach
Upholding resident rights, dignity, confidentiality, and independence every single shift

What You Bring

Current Recreation certificate
Valid Food Safe Certification
Valid First Aide Certification
Valid Class 4 Drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
Experience in Recreation- specifically in long term Care Environments
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
Ability to work independently, take direction, and adapt with flexibility
Physical ability to meet the demands of the role
Successful Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector)
An understanding of dementia and person-centered care
