JOB DESCRIPTION:
HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Exploration Geologist on behalf of our client, Equinox Gold, Valentine Gold Mine. The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field and at the minimum be registered as a Geoscientist in Training (GIT).
Reporting to the Project Geologist, Exploration, the Exploration Geologist is responsible for providing labour and technical support to aid in the daily operations of the Exploration department. The incumbent will perform duties such as drill core logging and sampling; drill hole planning; field mapping; prospecting; soil, till, and rock sample collection; data management and evaluation; geological interpretation of collected data; field surveying; and other duties as required.
This position is located at the Project site, working on a 2 week in/2 week out rotation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment through personal behaviours and conversations.

- Provide technical support and consultation to senior geological staff.
- Core logging, including geological and geotechnical measurements, vein orientations, structural measurements, alteration data, mineralization measurements, specific gravity measurements and associated calculations.
- Drill hole and drill movement planning and associated tasks.
- Sample collection, QA/QC of samples.
- Support geological interpretation of collected data.
- Data management.
- Conduct field mapping, including trench, outcrop, pit wall, and regional mapping.
- Prospecting.
- Soil, till and rock sample collection.
- Collection of measurements with a portable XRF unit.
- Field Site Inspections.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Geology, Earth Science or a related field.
- Currently registered as a GIT is a minimum requirement.
- Registered as a P.Geo is considered an asset.
- Experience in a remote setting and on shift/rotations is considered an asset.
- Experience in a mining or exploration setting is considered an asset.

- Strong ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
- Self-motivated and able to complete work with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
- Team-oriented but individually driven to produce results.
- Competent with Microsoft Office and data-management software.
- Knowledge and experience specific to mineral exploration and the mining industry.
- Proficient in the use of specialized software and techniques relating to the mineral exploration industry (ie: collection and processing of geological and geotechnical data).
- The ability to manage heavy physical work, which is defined as maximal lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 55lbs.
- A valid driver’s license and drivers abstract.
