ESPANOLA REGIONAL HOSPITAL AND HEALTH CENTRE

Casual Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA)

We are currently looking for a Casual Medical Laboratory Assistant. The successful candidate will interact
with patients and other health care workers to ensure that the needs of the patient are met in a caring and
professional manner and will provide laboratory services in accordance with the Policies and Procedures of
the Laboratory Department. In addition, they will foster and support a team environment to ensure the
attainment of our organization objectives and will act as a role model for all staff and promote the reputation
of the facility in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate should possess the following:

Successful completion of Grade 12
Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technician/Assistant program is preferred
Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician/Assistant is considered an asset
Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) is considered an asset
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other staff, patients and the

public

Strong computer skills
Ability to provide regular attendance
Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
