ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a competent and dedicated Education Manager to join our team at Anderson College’s London campus. The ideal candidate will have previous experience teaching adults and be passionate about helping mature students achieve their goals.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Education Manager will manage curriculum review, evaluate the development of new courses and/or programs, and approve the curriculum prepared by the education or department coordinator.
- The Education Manager supervises teacher quality assessment periodically, assists with the accreditation of college programs attends administrative meetings with valuable information, and ensures student rewrite arrangements conform to the set requirements of the college.
- Education Managers assist with the orientation of new students and enforce policies stipulated in the college’s handbook regarding students.
DUTIES:
Education Managers need a good, working knowledge of the current curriculum, and how to develop a new curriculum where necessary.
Research efficiency models to better assist program coordinators in determining where courses can be improved.
All extraordinary student issues will be escalated to the Education Manager for review, and proper action will be taken to determine the best course for the student. Student reviews will need to adhere to Ministry guidelines, and fall in line with OSAP regulations first and foremost. Education Manager discretion can be taken into consideration.
CORE SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Three to five years of teaching experience, teaching certification and proven work record in academic monitoring, planning, and administration.
- Prior Experience as a Manager of Studies or Academic Manager is preferred, but not essential.
- Five years of related work experience and knowledge in two or more of the following areas are required: curriculum design and development; project management; post-secondary educational program planning and coordination.
- Excellent administrative and project management skills. Excellent organizational, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and conflict-management skills.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and judgment concerning planning and policies. Ability to interact with instructors, colleagues, and external groups.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Proficient in the use of standard office applications (e.g., MS Office)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Position Location: London, Ontario
- Work environment: on-Campus
- Hours of work: 8 hours shift
- Schedule of work: Monday to Friday
