As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our operations by sourcing materials and services, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost-effective purchasing strategies. Responsibilities:
- Manage the purchasing and replenishment of inventory across all Checkpoint product lines, including purchase orders, blanket orders, and RMA processes.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and inventory data within company systems.
- Monitor inventory levels and demand trends to minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence, in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager.
- Coordinate inbound freight activities and support efficient transportation and logistics processes.
- Manage relationships with customs brokers and oversee associated costs, documentation, and processes.
- Investigate and resolve supplier non-conformance issues, invoice discrepancies, and purchase order variances.
- Process and track vendor returns, warranty claims, and inventory adjustments to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle count programs, and surplus inventory management initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers while supporting vendor negotiations and cost-saving initiatives.
- Reconcile purchase price variances and communicate pricing or product changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams and supply chain partners to ensure optimal product availability and service levels.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing inventory, purchasing, and operational data and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, ethical standards, and applicable regulations.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related role.
- Experience negotiating supplier agreements, pricing, and commercial terms.
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience working with ERP systems and inventory management tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work under tight timelines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accuracy.
