ABOUT THE POSITION
Responsible for leading all maintenance activities within the manufacturing facility to ensure safety, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency. This role directs and coordinates the repair, maintenance, and installation of machinery, tools, equipment, and facility systems, while supporting production across all departments.
Key Deliverables
· Promote a culture where safety is the top priority in all maintenance activities
· Lead daily maintenance activities to support production across burn, welding, machining, blast, paint, and assembly operations.
· Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to production
· Manage and evolve preventative maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance
· Drives preventative maintenance programs, respond to equipment breakdowns, and to lead a team of maintenance technicians while promoting a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
· Troubleshoot and support repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
· Inspect site regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
· Promote a culture where safety is the top priority in all maintenance activities
· Utilize and maintain MaintainX software to manage, track progress and completion of work tasks. Publish monthly metrics.
· Develop daily / weekly / monthly maintenance plans and prioritize work based on production needs
· Coordinate planned maintenance and equipment shutdowns with production teams
· Monitor maintenance performance and identify improvement opportunities
· Support lean manufacturing initiatives, including downtime reduction and process improvement
· Support and execute capital expenditure projects
· Promote safe work practices
· Conduct safety inspections and address hazards proactively
· Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions
· Ensure compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations
· Oversee maintenance of building systems, utilities, and site infrastructure
· Ensure proper upkeep of equipment, grounds, and facility assets
· Identify and recommend capital improvements or major repairs
· Support layout changes, equipment installations, and facility upgrades
· Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components
· Manage maintenance budgets and track expenditures
· Coordinate external contractors and service providers as required
· Oversee lockout/tagout program
· Manages shop vehicle for routine maintenance or repairs
· Maintains files and records as required
· Performs other duties as assigned
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
· Strong safety mindset
· Post-secondary education in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical, or Electrical discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience
· Effective leadership and team management skills with previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of:
o Mechanical systems
o Hydraulics and pneumatics
o Industrial electrical systems
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
· Excellent planning, organization, and time management abilities
· Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
· Proactive mindset with a focus on safety and continuous improvement
· Safety and environmental experience preferred
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment for both you and your team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing Environment
Shop manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, very warm and/or very chilly temperatures. The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection. Pay: $65,000.00-$102,000.00 per year
