Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or certificate in Recreation Therapy or related field
- Knowledge of recreation therapy processes, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver client-centered and strength-based programs.
- Strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of belonging in a healthcare setting.
- Leadership and communication skills with experience in experiential learning and program facilitation.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments to identify individual needs, strengths, and therapeutic goals.
- Develop, plan, and lead both group and individual recreational therapy programs, applying a variety of techniques to promote meaningful participation in recreation and leisure.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support client progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Document and evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic activities to ensure high-quality, evidence-based practice.
- Promote an inclusive environment that prioritizes equity, diversity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.
- Foster a therapeutic environment that promotes equity, diversity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.
- Participate in recreational activities and outing.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to support staff and volunteers in delivering recreational therapy activities.
Requirements:
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Must be able to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector, medical clearance and successfully pass Safe Management training.
- Valid G Class Driver’s License.

This position has a base rate of $24.00 per hour, with an additional $3 wage enhancement per hour, paid by the government, as reflected in the wage posted.
