Are you an enthusiastic individual who enjoys interacting with the public? Consider this exciting opportunity as an Optometric Assistant at Dr. Arif Surani and Associates in Lime Ridge Mall. You will be the first point of contact in our clinic and play an integral role in the quality of care that patients will receive. We are looking for someone who prides themselves on the work they perform, is passionate about helping others and puts patient care first. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and takes initiative. In a busy location, the capacity to handle various tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively will play a critical role. While we prefer candidates with healthcare experience, we welcome any front desk or receptionist experience as a valuable asset. We’re a growing practice looking for someone who is excited to contribute to our continued development and success. At our office, everyone has a voice, and new ideas to help improve the clinic are encouraged! If you are upbeat, self-motivated and an excellent communicator then this opportunity is for you.

We are looking for someone with the following characteristics:

Possesses exceptional customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic
Professional and dependable
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Computer proficient
Strong judgment and problem solving skills to provide solutions for any schedule delays or no-shows in order to maintain patient flow
Ability to interact with patients of all ages

You can look forward to a fulfilling career where you will be responsible for but are not limited to:

Assist in patient care, including gathering medical history and carry out preliminary testing
Perform diagnostic tests including retinal imaging, visual field testing and OCT
Handle front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, managing incoming and outgoing phone calls and checking patients in and out
Financial duties such as accepting payments and submitting third party billing claims
Coordinating medical referrals
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record system
Light cleaning and tidying to ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and waiting areas
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their needs and concerns

If you are unfamiliar with any of the above duties, we will happily provide training.
