We are currently looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist - 1 year Contract to join our busy and growing manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be engaged in elevating the department and company to the next level. The incumbent will be forward looking and thrive in a culture of continuous improvement.

General Accountability:
Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be the main representative for coordinating and filling staffing needs from sourcing to onboarding for all open job requisitions from skilled trade to technical and management roles. Will also assist with internal transfers, consultant, and contractor service agreements. Will support the Director of Human Resources within other areas of Human Resources and cross-train with the Human Resources Generalist in Canada and the US to also provide employee relations support.
Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- End to end recruiting involvement (format job descriptions, post job openings, screen resumes, schedule interviews, participate in first round of interviews, obtain job and training grants when applicable)
- Prepare new hire packages, provide new employee orientations, track, and ensure all items are completed on the new hire checklist including IT request form, background checks, employment verifications, new hire photos/ID security badges, register employee on the hand clock, order lab coats, assign lockers, excess work hours agreements, etc.
- Set-up Romet email address, Vubiz login details, and UKG login details for all new hires, and assist employees with troubleshooting and resetting of passwords when needed
- Providing payroll direction on all recruiting and transfer related changes
- KPI reporting related to new hires and recruiting efforts (i.e., time to fill, stats of the source of hires, etc.)
- New hire employee program management (including 75-day reviews, taxable benefit activation/tracking, retirement plans (RRSP/401K), and benefit enrollments, etc.)
- Back-up point of contact for employees on employee relations support, escalate or communicate to the HR Generalist or HR Director as required
- Back-up to assist employees with inquiries on vacation, benefits, pay, use of self-service kiosks, etc.
- Trained as admin level user on the UKG system (HRIS)
- Assist on the delivery and support of our e-platform for all employee services (including Vubiz and employee self-serve)
- Assist on the management of all employee data records and overall system integrity and reporting
- Ensure confidentiality of employee information
- Participate and assist with related company social events
- All other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to balance the needs and demands from multiple departments and managers
- Strong communications skills, ability to interact effectively with others and build strong relationships

- Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential/personal information
- Precise attention to detail
- Adaptable and able to respond to “urgent” requests and able to work with limited supervision
- Proven ability working with remote working tools including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom, Skype, etc.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and specifically Outlook and setting up meeting invites, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Able to create tables and auto-calculations, and import/export text and link spreadsheets

- Ability to effectively coach, manage and support team members
- Ability to manage significant workload including conflicting priorities
- Some knowledge of Employment Standards across Ontario and/or Canada preferred
- Some knowledge of benefits, retirement plans (RRSP/401K) and/or payroll administration practices preferred
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2+ years of related experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- College Certificate/Diploma or related work experience
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources and/or Recruiting considered an asset
- CHRP Designation considered an asset; or in the process of achieving designation
- Experience/exposure to a manufacturing environment, working with machinists, fabricators, and assemblers
- Experience recruiting/interviewing skills on a range of positions in a full life-cycle environment, including management of multiple high-demand/high-volume roles simultaneously
