The Opportunity
Rexdale Community Health Centre (RCHC) is seeking an experienced Director, Finance to join our Senior Leadership Team and provide strategic and operational leadership to the organization’s Finance function.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director, Finance provides financial leadership for a growing, complex, multi-funded community health organization of approximately 200 employees. The Director works closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, senior leaders, program managers, funders, and external auditors to support strong financial stewardship, organizational sustainability, and informed decision-making.
The portfolio includes financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, Ontario Health and other funder reporting, audit, payroll oversight, internal controls, statutory and charitable reporting, and leadership of the Finance team.
This position is being offered as a 12-month contract to provide coverage during an approved leave. As RCHC continues to grow and evolve, there may be an opportunity for the successful candidate to transition into a permanent full-time position following the contract, subject to organizational needs.
Key experience for this role includes a CPA designation and significant experience with Ontario Health/LHIN SRI, ARR, and CAP submissions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, financial analysis, and organization-wide financial reporting.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting across multiple programs, cost centres, and funding agreements.
- Lead Ontario Health/LHIN SRI, ARR, CAP, and other government and funder financial submissions.
- Provide financial analysis, advice, and reporting to the Executive Director, Senior Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and relevant Board committees.
- Lead annual audit and year-end processes and coordinate effectively with external auditors.
- Maintain effective financial policies, internal controls, reconciliations, and compliance practices.
- Oversee payroll review, year-end T4 processes,HOOPP reconciliation, statutory remittances, and related financial controls.
- Oversee applicable charitable and tax reporting, including T3010, T1235, HST rebates, and property rebate requirements.
- Monitor financial performance, funding commitments, cash flow, significant variances, and emerging financial risks.
- Work collaboratively with senior and program leaders on budgets, funding requirements, new initiatives, program growth, and financial decision-making.
- Lead, support, and develop Finance staff while strengthening cross-training, documentation, and business continuity.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting, controls, and Finance processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- CPA designation in good standing is required.
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive financial management experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibility.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Ontario Health/LHIN financial reporting, including SRI, ARR, and CAP submissions.
- Demonstrated experience leading annual budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and external audit processes.
- Experience working within a multi-funded, publicly funded, health care, or not-for-profit environment.
- Experience with payroll review, T4 year-end processes, and payroll-related financial controls.
- Experience with HOOPP reconciliation.
- Experience preparing or overseeing T3010, T1235, HST rebate, and property rebate requirements.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and presenting financial information to senior leadership, Boards of Directors, and/or Board committees.
- Experience leading, supervising, and developing Finance staff.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards applicable to not-for-profit organizations and financial reporting requirements within a publicly funded environment.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial leaders.
- High degree of integrity, judgment, accuracy, confidentiality, and accountability.
Systems and Sector Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or NAV is strongly preferred.
- Experience with QHR payroll is an asset.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Previous financial experience within a Not-for-Profit, health care organization, or other complex publicly funded organization is strongly preferred.

Pay: $100,039.00-$120,064.00 per year
