We are looking for a new balanced trainer to join our expanding team. Please read through the post below to see if you would make a good candidate.

We are looking to add a new balanced trainer to our team! We are passionate about rehabilitating aggressive and reactive dogs by using balanced training to give them the best life possible. We are looking for someone who has a passion for dogs and animals in general, and who wants to make a difference in a dogs life. You are an empathetic, emotionally mature, driven, hard working, person with a great attitude and mindset. You’re a clear communicator who is outgoing and can work in a team or individual setting. You are personable and have the ability, or are comfortable learning the ability, to teach group and private lessons. We’re looking for someone who is strong and fit enough to keep up with aggressive dogs over 100lbs. We also require you to have your own vehicle and drivers licence and are available to work some weekends.
For the right person we are absolutely willing to train, however previous knowledge in regards to animal training is required. Any previous behavioural modification training is a bonus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong work ethic, reliability, honesty, and a passion for dogs.
- The ability to inspire and motivate yourself and others
- Skilled in operant and classical conditioning. Strong skillset with a prong collar and bonus for e-collar experience. (Candidates must be genuinely curious and open to learning all skills, tools, approaches.)
- Able to take directions, and willing adapt training approaches for the dog
- Positive ONLY trainers must be open to balanced training.
Operations: Executes the daily plan set forth by management. Asks questions and voices concerns.
✔ Handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments (even those deemed aggressive by the courts)
✔ Maintaining a safe environment for dogs at all times
✔ Feeding and administering meds to dogs where necessary
✔ Making sure they have effective leadership which handling the dogs
✔ Being kind yet firm at times and willing to learn and improve their skills all the time
✔ Making sure dogs are examined daily to be healthy, well exercised, attended to, and clean
✔ Interacting with the public in a professional manner
✔ Cleaning the facility
✔ Managing their own time with regards to the dog training schedule, lessons, cleaning, and bathing
✔ Communicate with other trainers, Manager, managers and/or Owner to pass on information about each board and train dog and inform them about dog’s progress and any issues that you’ve observed with dog(s) or client(s).
✔ Taking the initiative. If you see something needing to get done, you get it done.
✔ Bathing dogs as needed
We compensate based on experience level with competitive wages, with the potential to earn additional income onto of wages. There is always room to grow within our company so we are looking for people who want to be part of a team or family, and help the company expand.
