Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist to join our veterinary team. This role is great for someone who enjoys working with animals while providing excellent client care. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, passionate about animal wellbeing, and open to learning

Responsibilities

Greet clients warmly and intake patients into rooms
Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures
Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness of the clinic
Collect and process laboratory samples, performing basic lab tests when necessary
Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files
Provide support with animal restraint during examinations or procedures
Manage phone inquiries, answer questions, and communicate appointment details effectively
Handle administrative tasks such as billing, invoicing, and inventory management
Educate pet owners on post-treatment care and preventive health measures
Ensure the clinic environment adheres to safety and hygiene standards
Answer phone calls and book clients in

Qualifications

Prior experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred but not required
Strong communication skills with an empathetic approach toward clients and animals
Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail
Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is advantageous
Must be organized, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving clinic needs
Certification or training in veterinary assisting is beneficial but not mandatory
