About the Job
We are currently looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk/Quality Control to join our team. This is a combined position where you can expect to perform a combination of any of the following duties:
Shipping Receiving Clerk:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the contents against the purchase orders.
- Inspect and document any damages or discrepancies and report them to the supervisor.
- Ensure that all shipments are properly labeled and stored in the designated areas.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments, including proper labeling and documentation
- Keep accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area
Key Skills
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including inventory management
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with computer systems and software
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional local deliveries
Quality Control:
- Inspection and testing: conducting visual checks, measuring dimensions, testing functionality, and inspecting materials to ensure they meet specifications.
- Documentation: Recording inspection results, maintaining detailed, accurate records.
- Quality Control Reporting: Reporting defects or malfunctions to supervisors and assisting in identifying the root cause of issues.
- Using checklists and reading blueprints/technical drawings
Key Skills
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous examination to catch minor defects.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of product specifications and, for some roles, specialized knowledge in textiles, mechanics, or electronics.
- Communication: Clearly reporting issues to production teams.
- Problem-Solving: Identifying the cause of defects and suggesting solutions.
Additional Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Flexible schedule - shift work may be required
Must be physically fit and regularly able to lift 50 pounds
