Full job description

As a Kitchen Aide, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring meal service excellence, maintaining a clean food services environment, and creating a warm dining experience for our cherished residents. Reporting directly to the Food Services Manager, you'll be a key member of our close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities:

Meal Service

Prepare and serve resident beverages and snacks with attention to personal dietary guidelines.
Monitor resident eating habits and communicate changes to the Food Services Manager.
Ensure meals are served in accordance with residents' specific dietary needs.
Collaborate with the Cook as needed.
Adhere to Food Safe Regulations, including temperature control, and maintain a clean food services area with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

Dining Room Preparation & Cleanliness of Food Services Area:

Maintain accurate dishwasher temperature and chemical usage logs.
Keep food services work areas, equipment, and the dining room meticulously clean and sanitized.
Execute sanitation tasks in line with safe work procedures.

Safety & Security

Prioritize the safety and security of residents, personnel, and visitors during kitchen duties.
Report any workplace injuries promptly and accurately.

Core Competencies:

Demonstrate compassion, respect, empathy, and kindness towards the elderly and fellow team members.
Exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
Embrace a flexible, positive, and can-do attitude.
Maintain strict confidentiality standards.
Show an understanding of the Canada Food Guide and willingness to learn and understand Food Regulations.
Follow task lists associated with the role.
Organize and prioritize work efficiently, meeting deadlines consistently.
Display willingness to undergo additional training if required.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Strong English speaking, comprehension, reading and writing is mandatory.
First Aid certification (we can get you trained)
WHMIS certification (we can get you trained)
