Position Overview
We are seeking a Marketing Manager to lead and coordinate marketing initiatives across the organization. This role will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that strengthen our brand, support business development, communicate our technical capabilities, and increase awareness of our products and company.
The Marketing Manager will work closely with the executive, sales, engineering, and product teams while managing external creative professionals, contractors, and other marketing partners. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, comfortable working with technical subject matter, and capable of moving between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
The marketing manager must know what life was like before the AI boom (i.e., knows how to write and create without AI); however, they also know how to use AI to be more efficient.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Collaborate on the development and own the execution of the company's overall marketing strategy in alignment with business and growth objectives.
- Build marketing plans, priorities, campaigns, and budgets.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen brand awareness and position the company within key commercial, government, and defence markets.
- Establish marketing objectives and track the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.
- Work closely with the executive and sales teams to ensure marketing activities support broader company priorities.
Content & Communications
- Lead and support the development of marketing content, including:
- White papers and technical publications
- Website content
- Product announcements and launches
- Case studies and customer success stories
- Presentations and sales materials
- Press releases and company announcements
- Newsletters and digital campaigns
- Collaborate with technical and engineering teams to translate complex technologies and product capabilities into clear, compelling content.
- Maintain consistency in company messaging, positioning, terminology, and brand standards.
Social Media & Digital Marketing
- Manage the company's social media presence and content calendar.
- Develop content that highlights products, company milestones, industry developments, customer applications, and company expertise.
- Monitor engagement and performance to continuously improve digital marketing activities.
- Coordinate website updates and digital campaigns with internal resources and external contractors.
Events & Tradeshows
- Lead the planning and execution of conferences, tradeshows, demonstrations, customer events, and other industry events.
- Coordinate event logistics, booth requirements, marketing materials, product displays, shipping, contractors, and internal participants.
- Work with sales and leadership to establish objectives for major events and ensure appropriate preparation and follow-up.
- Evaluate event performance and recommend future participation based on strategic and commercial value.
Creative & Contractor Management
- Manage external designers, photographers, videographers, writers, agencies, and other marketing contractors.
- Develop creative briefs, establish timelines, review deliverables, and ensure projects remain within budget.
- Coordinate internal contributors to ensure marketing projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple marketing projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing social media, digital content, events, and external contractors.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills.
- Ability to understand technical products and communicate their value to different audiences.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve as the company grows.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in aerospace, defence, drones, robotics, advanced manufacturing, or another technical industry.
- Experience marketing to government, defence, public-safety, or enterprise customers.
- Experience developing technical content or white papers.
- Experience managing major industry conferences and tradeshows.
- Familiarity with CRM, marketing automation, analytics, and content-management platforms.
