Position Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager to join their team. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing and executing construction projects primarily within the Greater Moncton Area. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion, ensuring high-quality results that meet or exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Construction management of multiple multi-residential and commercial construction projects
- Manage project design, building permits, Construction Management process
- Interface with client representatives, architect representatives, subcontractors, security, etc.
- Project initiation and mobilization, with the project team
- Prepare tender process, create and update construction schedules, progress, and monthly cost reports
- Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, contractors, and other specialists
- Update and keep track of construction budget
- Coordinate, negotiate, and review contracts and change orders with sub-trades
- Manage trade contractor site meetings, RFI's, invoices, and control document process
- Observe that Work Safe Practices are being followed during site visits
- Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to
- Oversee total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Provide construction direction and oversight to the project team, comprised of designers, estimators, and PCs
- Ensure all contractual issues are resolved and dealt with in a timely manner
- Manage internal or external contractors or trades
- Primary liaison with site superintendents and sub-trades
- Schedule bi-weekly project coordination meetings for the duration of the project
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to site employees, sub-contractors, and suppliers
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in Project Management
- 5+ years of experience in Construction
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Degree in Engineering Technology or related experience
- Valid driver's licence and some travel required
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings, and plans
- An understanding of all construction trades and construction techniques
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, and legislation, such as building codes, etc.
- Commitment to working in a team environment, with established team-building abilities
- Strong communication, leadership, integration, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work safely in a construction environment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. , Outlook, Excel, Word, Projects,etc), Bluebeam, and Procore
