About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Designer to join our team on-site in Hartland, NB. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and preparing engineering designs and drawings using current design software, ensuring all drawings meet established specifications and design standards.
Key responsibilities include preparing and interpreting engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for attachments, assemblies, and components. You will also support the design of assemblies, components, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
Schedule (On-Site – Hartland, NB)
Monday to Thursday: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
Friday: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
- Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations.
- Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
- Write technical reports.
- Develop and prepare engineering drawings, plans, diagrams, or layouts from sketches.
- Operate computer-assisted drafting equipment Prepare and interpret conventional and computer-assisted design (CAD) engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for machines and components.
- Prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules and reports.
- Design jigs and fixtures for use in manufacturing processes.
- Work with other departments throughout the design and production process to ensure that our product is of superior quality that is built right & fits right.
- Partner with the Customer Service and Design to ensure that the proper inputs are attained in order to create our manufacturing specifications, and work with the manufacturing team to ensure that we design manufacturing specifications in-line with our manufacturing capabilities.
- Respond quickly to the shop floor's needs in response to addressing issues that may surface during production regarding the manufacturing specifications, Bill of Material, or routings.
- Participate in cross-functional, continuous improvement teams as the opportunity presents itself.
Requirements
- College diploma or University degree in engineering design and drafting technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing-oriented environment is considered an asset and preferred
- Must be willing to develop technical skills through both internal and external training as required.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Experience in operating a CAD program, preferably SolidWorks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good attendance
- Strong mathematical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with other departments
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in difficult situations
- Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.

- Exposure to heavy equipment or industrial machinery
- Co-op, internship, or hands-on mechanical experience
- Familiarity with tools, equipment, or technical environments
What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)
- Build a solid understanding of Craig products, systems, and common customer issues
- Confidently handle basic technical support inquiries with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot common hydraulic and mechanical issues
- Effectively communicate with customers and internal teams in a clear and professional manner
- Accurately support Inside Sales with quoting and product configuration tasks
- Contribute to warranty reviews with thorough and well-documented assessments
- Maintain accurate updates within the parts portal and documentation systems
- Show strong attention to detail while prioritizing high-impact and time-sensitive issues
- Build effective working relationships across Engineering, Sales, Production, and Warranty teams
