Due to operational requirements, candidates must be based in Nova Scotia or Newfoundland, allowing us to maintain efficient operations while ensuring drivers have adequate home‑time between trips.

JOB SUMMARY
The Riverbend Group is seeking a reliable and professional Class 1 Long-Haul Driver to join our growing transportation team. This role involves Canada-wide long-haul flatbed transportation, ensuring freight is delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong driving skills, a commitment to safety and compliance, and the professionalism required to represent Riverbend on the road.
Candidates must have proven flatbed experience, including securing loads using chains, straps, binders, and tarps, as well as a solid understanding of load balance, cargo securement regulations, and safe operating practices. This position also requires the physical ability to perform flatbed duties in varying weather and road conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Operate Class 1 tractor-trailer units safely and professionally on long-haul, Canada-wide routes
- Transport freight in accordance with load requirements, delivery schedules, and company procedures
- Secure and inspect loads to ensure safe transportation and compliance with regulations
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, reporting any mechanical or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate logbooks, documentation, and trip records in compliance with provincial and federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding routes, delays, and delivery status
- Adhere to all company safety policies, transportation laws, and hours-of-service regulations
- Represent The Riverbend Group in a professional manner at customer locations and on the road
- Ability to sit for extended periods during long‑haul driving.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s License
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Ability and willingness to perform Canada-wide long-haul driving
- Successful completion of a road test
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Criminal Record Check required
- Flatbed experience
- Strong understanding of safe driving practices and transportation regulations
- Ability to work independently and manage long periods on the road
- Professional attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
