Overview:
As an RV Service Manager, you will be delivering high-quality customer service to our valued customers and with be working closely with external service providers and internal team members from parts and sales to drive.
You play a key role in understanding and providing proactive and valued solutions, and you will use your knowledge to build and maintain relationships and to understand client problems and explain their needs to staff for satisfactory service delivery. The RV Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the service department, including personnel management, service operations, facility maintenance, inventory control, warranty administration, customer relations, financial performance, and regulatory compliance. This leadership role requires strong technical knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.

Reports to: General Manager (GM) and Regional Service Manager
Key Responsibilities: Accountabilities:
Personnel Management & Team Leadership
- Supervise service department employees, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
- Create and manage employee schedules and shift rotations.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.
- Resolve workplace conflicts and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Review and approve employee timecards and coordinate payroll submissions.
- Track employee attendance, vacation, and sick leave.
- Manage hiring, onboarding, training, disciplinary actions, and terminations in accordance with employment standards.
- Facilitate team meetings and maintain clear communication across departments.
Service Operations Management
- Oversee daily workflow, technician scheduling, and repair dispatching.
- Monitor repair orders to ensure timely completion and quality workmanship.
- Conduct final quality control inspections before customer delivery.
- Coordinate onsite service appointments and technician assignments.
- Maintain wash bay standards, environmental compliance, and workplace safety.
- Support technicians with troubleshooting and technical guidance.
Fleet & Driver Management
- Assign drivers and coordinate vehicle scheduling.
- Maintain fleet maintenance records and service schedules.
- Monitor fuel consumption and mileage reporting.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and vehicle inspections.
- Address vehicle maintenance issues promptly.
Facility & Equipment Management
- Oversee maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
- Coordinate snow removal and seasonal facility preparations.
- Manage IT-related service requests and vendor support.
- Ensure shop equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operational.
- Coordinate facility repairs and upgrades with external contractors.
Financial & Business Performance
- Monitor departmental expenses and budget performance.
- Generate revenue reports and analyze profitability.
- Implement cost-control initiatives and operational efficiencies.
- Review departmental financial statements and key performance metrics.
Supplier & Sublet Vendor Coordination
- Schedule and manage subcontracted services, including inspections, tire services, hitch installations, and body repairs.
- Verify service quality and reconcile invoices.
- Maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships.
- Ensure all subcontracted work is properly documented.
Training & Development
- Maintain employee training records and skill assessments.
- Mentor staff and promote continuous improvement.
- Support ongoing technical training and professional development.
Sales Department Support
- Collaborate with sales staff regarding service-related customer requests.
- Prioritize and schedule repairs required for unit deliveries.
- Communicate timelines and service updates effectively.
Technical Expertise
- Maintain advanced knowledge of RV systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and chassis components.
- Assist with diagnostics and complex repairs when required.
- Analyze technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Escalate and resolve customer concerns professionally.
Key Accountabilities, supported by other staff members:
Customer Service Excellence (Service Advisors)
- Offering support to service advisors to oversee customer appointments and service intake processes.
- Address customer concerns and ensure high satisfaction levels through follow-up and issue resolution.
Parts & Inventory Control (Parts Manager / Parts Team members)
- Ensure Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts.
- Ensure proper ordering, receiving, stocking, and organization of parts.
- Prepare accurate repair estimates and pricing.
- Manage vendor relationships, returns, and inventory reconciliation.
Warranty Administration (Warranty Administrators)
- Submit and monitor OEM warranty claims through manufacturer portals.
- Process extended warranty claims with various providers.
- Maintain accurate documentation and claim records.
- Communicate warranty coverage details to customers.
- Ensure warranty work is approved, completed, and billed efficiently.
Health, Safety & Compliance (Health & Safety Committee)
- Participate in Health & Safety Committee activities.
- Conduct safety audits and incident investigations.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of management experience in a similar industry: RV, automotive, marine, powersports, or related service operations.
- The ability to be a collegial and collaborative teammate with all dealership departments and peers in other dealerships.
- Prior mechanical knowledge or repair experience.
- Excellent English communication skills. French communication skills are an asset.
- Problem solving and listening skills.
- Patient disposition to resolve conflicts.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledgeable in industry-specific software.
- Basic accounting skills and knowledge of electronic payment systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
