The Bakery Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the Bakery Department and ensures excellent customer service, execution of programs, and department profitability. Along with assisting in the overall management of store standards, implementation and adherence to company programs, policies and procedures, and other management-related activities.
Reporting to the Store Manager, your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Provide leadership through mentoring the company vision, mission, core values
- Consistently deliver excellent service experience for both internal and external customers
- Hire, train, lead, and empower a team to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Responsible for Bakery Department scheduling needs and labour optimization
- Merchandise products, including new and/or featured items, to improve sales opportunities
- Coordinate orders, monitor inventory, and manage shrink
- Oversee the department's key financial objectives, and take action to ensure targets are achieved
- Communicate with the team on business performance, new initiatives, and other pertinent issues
- Demonstrate entrepreneurship and run it like it's your business
- Ensure health and food safety standards are consistently implemented, and standard operating procedures are followed
- Physical Requirements include lifting and carrying over 50 lbs, operating equipment, bending, reaching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods.
Experience:
- Must have valid work authorization in Canada
- Must be available to work varied shifts, including weekend and evenings
- 2+ years of bakery experience or equivalent in a related field
- 2+ years of management experience in a grocery service environment
- Food Safe and First Aid Certification are considered assets
- Excellent communication and social skills
- Ability to work well independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment
