Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive food preparation skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a key member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will support the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with restaurant experience and a dedication to excellence in the food industry.

Duties

Assist in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to safety standards
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including cooks and food service personnel, fostering a collaborative team environment
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards
Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols
Support food presentation and ensure consistency in taste and appearance across all menu items
Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize waste
Train new staff members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times
Collaborate with restaurant management to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings
Serve as a role model for professionalism, hospitality, and culinary excellence

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience with team management skills; ability to lead by example and motivate staff
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, handling procedures, and kitchen best practices
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to oversee restaurant operations effectively
Demonstrated expertise in restaurant management, including inventory control and quality assurance
Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with team members and serve guests professionally
Passion for the food industry with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; availability during peak hours is preferred
