Overview
We are seeking a reliable Roll-Off Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight and equipment, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the condition of vehicles and cargo. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, efficiency, and professionalism are paramount. Candidates with experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, or automotive repair are highly valued.
This position requires;
A minimum of 3 years of insured driving as a DZ licensed person
Familiarity with the Lambton-County area
Scheduled Saturday Shifts
Duties
Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight and equipment to various locations
Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
Ensure all freight is secured properly before transit to prevent damage during transportation
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety standards are met
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams both written and verbal
Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to keep vehicles in optimal condition
Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations
Assist with duties or other tasks as assigned to support overall operations
Skills
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
Knowledge of freight handling and securement techniques
Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting vehicle issues is a strong asset
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation
Ability to effectively communicate for coordination with team members and clients
Physical ability to load, unload, and lift cargo as required
Physical ability to sit for lengthy periods of time while navigating various terrain types
