My Better Books is a growing bookkeeping firm based in Sarnia, serving small businesses and individuals across Sarnia, Lambton County, London, Windsor, and Southwestern Ontario. We go beyond basic bookkeeping — helping trades and small business clients with job costing, cash flow tracking, payroll, and HST to turn messy financials into clear, usable reports.
About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team and support a growing roster of multi-entity clients. You’ll handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, AP/AR, reconciliations, and reporting for clients primarily in the trades sector.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience in Canada
- Strong understanding of Canadian bookkeeping standards, HST/GST filings, and payroll basics
- Proficiency in Xero (required); QuickBooks experience an asset
- Xero certification an asset
- QuickBooks certification an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple client files
- Strong communication skills
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Month-end bookkeeping and basic financial reporting
- Assist with payroll processing
- HST/GST preparation and filing support
- Job costing entries for trades clients
- Maintain organized digital client files
