Exercise and Smart Gyms. We support commercial, community, industrial
and remote facilities through recreation-equipment service, accessible
fitness systems, asset lifecycle planning, field assessments and
controlled digital recordkeeping.
THE POSITION
We are hiring a full-time Kinesiology, Sport & Recreation Equipment
Asset Specialist for Alberta field operations.
This is not primarily a personal-training, coaching or
recreation-programming position. It is an equipment, asset, facility
and records role informed by sport, fitness, kinesiology and
recreation knowledge.
The successful candidate will work directly with fitness equipment and
broader recreational infrastructure. The role includes field
inventories, equipment and asset condition observations, accessibility
reviews, intended-use orientation, photographic evidence, lifecycle
records, maintenance and replacement planning, client communication
and support for installations, relocations and service programs.
The employee may live in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer or elsewhere in
Alberta. Work is performed primarily at client, community, industrial
and remote sites. Regular attendance in Red Deer is not required.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct structured field inventories and condition assessments of
- strength, cardio, accessible fitness, sport, recreation, playground,court, trail and related facility assets.
- Record manufacturer, model, serial number, location, configuration, condition, service history and operational status.
- Observe and document wear, damage, accessibility concerns, presentation issues, intended-use concerns and user-reporteddeficiencies.evidence and asset records.approved procedures.replacement or further technical review.programs and lifecycle planning.capital-planning information and grant-ready asset records.including CES and EMP-supported workflows.client-facing educational material.the internal team.systems and professional-engineering oversight where applicable.or remote-site access controls.
- Produce accurate photographs, measurements, field notes, inspection
- Support equipment orientation and explain basic intended use within
- Identify assets requiring maintenance, repair, parts investigation,
- Support equipment installations, commissioning, relocations, service
- Help develop maintenance schedules, replacement priorities,
- Maintain controlled digital records through company systems,
- Assist with approved equipment instructions, photographs, videos and
- Communicate professionally with facility staff, users, vendors and
- Coordinate with operations, quality, procurement, information
- Follow company HSE-Q procedures, client requirements and industrial
- Travel throughout Alberta and, when assigned, elsewhere in Canada.TRAVEL AND MOBILIZATION
This position requires frequent field travel averaging approximately
15 nights away per month. Assignments may occur in blocks and
schedules vary with client and site requirements.
The employee must maintain a reliable means of reaching assigned sites
or designated mobilization points. The company covers approved
business transportation, accommodations and meals in accordance with
the assignment and company policy. The employee’s home city does not
determine eligibility provided they can mobilize reliably and meet
assigned schedules.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma, degree or equivalent relevant education in kinesiology,
- exercise science, sport, fitness, recreation, leisure studies,facility operations, asset management or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated interest in equipment, facilities and physical assets—not only exercise programming.
- Strong observational, documentation and recordkeeping ability.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort learning how commercial fitness and recreation equipment is assembled, used, inspected and maintained.non-technical people.structured record systems.attend industrial, remote and community sites.work, with accommodation where required.within controlled procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to communicate equipment findings clearly to technical and

- Ability to safely perform the genuine physical requirements of field

- recreation or coaching credential.
- Experience with commercial fitness equipment, recreation facilities,playgrounds, courts, community assets or industrial fitnessfacilities.
- Experience creating asset inventories, inspection records, service histories, maintenance logs or condition reports.or facility operations.licence is preferred where driving is required; the essential requirement is reliable mobilization to assigned work.equipment-orientation videos.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Experience working around installations, service work, commissioning
- Industrial, municipal, remote-site or community-facility experience.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and acceptable driver’s abstract. A
- First Aid, WHMIS, CSTS or comparable site-safety training.
- Ability to create clear instructional photographs or short
The successful candidate can walk into a facility, understand what
equipment and recreational assets are present, document them
accurately, recognize visible condition and lifecycle issues,
communicate respectfully with facility personnel and leave behind
records that support maintenance, accessibility, budgeting, service
continuity and responsible decision-making.

equipment you have worked with.
8. Describe any experience creating asset inventories, condition
records, inspection reports, maintenance histories or service
documentation.
9. Describe an example where you identified an equipment or facility
problem and documented it clearly.
10. What Alberta community would be your normal home base?
11. Do you hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and an acceptable
driver’s abstract? This is preferred, not an automatic
disqualification where another reliable mobilization method exists.
