Are you a motivated B2B sales professional who enjoys building relationships, developing new business, and helping create repeatable sales processes?
We are a growing Managed Services Provider (MSP) looking for a Sales & Business Development Representative to help expand our managed IT services client base and build a scalable sales pipeline.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than simply working through a pre-existing lead list. You will work closely with company leadership and our technical team to identify prospective clients, understand their business challenges, develop opportunities, and help establish a structured sales process that can grow with the company.
Our technical, operational, security, and service delivery processes continue to mature as the business grows. The successful candidate will help strengthen the sales side of the organization while being supported by the technical team for solution design, assessments, and complex technical discussions.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Prospect and generate new business opportunities through direct outreach, networking, referrals, partnerships, and other appropriate channels.
- Identify businesses that are a strong fit for managed IT services rather than pursuing every available opportunity.
- Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand the prospect's organization, technology challenges, business priorities, risks, and current IT support model.
- Communicate the business value of managed IT, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, infrastructure support, backup, and related services.
- Work with the technical team when deeper technical discovery or solution validation is required.
- Develop and maintain a healthy, organized sales pipeline.
- Consistently follow up with prospects and move qualified opportunities through the sales process.
- Coordinate proposals, presentations, meetings, and next steps with company leadership.
- Build long-term relationships with prospects, clients, referral partners, and local businesses.
- Maintain accurate opportunity, activity, and follow-up information within the company's CRM/PSA systems.
- Identify common prospect questions, objections, and concerns so our sales materials and processes can continually improve.
- Help develop repeatable prospecting, qualification, follow-up, and sales practices as the company grows.
- Meet agreed sales activity, pipeline, and revenue targets.
What You Will Not Be Expected to Do
You do not need to be a senior systems engineer to succeed in this role.
Our technical team will assist with complex technical assessments, solution architecture, security requirements, infrastructure recommendations, project scoping, and other areas requiring technical expertise.
Your responsibility is to understand the client's business, identify the opportunity, communicate value, maintain the relationship, and move the sales process forward.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated success in B2B sales, business development, account development, or a similar client-facing role.
- Experience selling IT services, managed services, cybersecurity, telecommunications, SaaS, professional services, or another recurring B2B service is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to conduct effective discovery conversations rather than relying solely on scripted sales pitches.
- Comfortable discussing business technology and cybersecurity concepts with non-technical decision makers.
- Strong prospecting and follow-up habits.
- Organized and capable of maintaining an accurate sales pipeline.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to identify underlying business problems.
- Professional, consultative approach to selling.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and operational teams.
- Willingness to learn our services, processes, client standards, and technology stack.
- Comfortable working in a growing organization where some processes are still being developed and improved.
