We are a busy, modern, values-driven law firm based in Red Deer, Alberta, committed to delivering practical, tailored legal services to our clients in a hybrid practice model.
Currently comprised of four lawyers, five legal assistants, a CFO/lead conveyancer, and a Business Development Manager, we pride ourselves on a warm culture of professionalism, responsiveness, and strong client relationships across a range of practice areas, including Real Estate, Wills & Estates, Immigration, Corporate, Commercial, and Litigation.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced lawyer to join our collaborative, growing team to practice in any of the above-noted practice areas – tailored to your professional interests and strengths. The Opportunity
This is a unique, broad-based role, where you will have the opportunity to manage files independently while collaborating with your colleagues and senior counsel within the firm. Rather than confining you to one highly specialized department, we offer a versatile practice opportunity – and are open to structuring this role around your specific areas of expertise and career goals within the following core practice areas:
- Real Estate (residential & commercial)
- Wills, Estates & Trusts
- Immigration Law
- Civil Litigation
- Corporate & Commercial Law
Responsibilities
- Manage your own client files from intake through to resolution, with support from qualified legal assistants.
- Draft and review legal documents, contracts, pleadings, estate plans or immigration applications – depending on your practice preference.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and occasionally in the Alberta Court of Justice or King's Bench.
- Maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
- Collaborate with our experienced support staff and management.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution.
- Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta (or eligibility to practice in Alberta in the immediate future).
- 1 to 5+ years of post-call experience (though all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply).
- Strong analytical, communication, and drafting skills.
- A professional, entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to contribute to the Red Deer community.
