Job Summary
NLGC is a leading builder specializing in innovative 55+ senior communities. Committed to quality and excellence, we are seeking a skilled Site Superintendent to manage a premier residential project in Red Deer, followed by a continuous pipeline of upcoming regional projects.

As the Site Superintendent for NLGC's senior living project, you will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of the construction site. Your primary objective will be to ensure the successful completion of the project while adhering to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will work closely with the construction manager, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to maintain project timelines and deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership: Manage and provide leadership to the on-site construction team, including subcontractors and laborers, ensuring they are motivated, organized, and working efficiently to achieve project goals.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure that construction activities meet or exceed industry standards and comply with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on the construction site, ensuring all workers and contractors adhere to company policies, procedures, and relevant safety regulations.
Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration with project stakeholders, including project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, to address any issues or concerns promptly and maintain positive working relationships.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve construction-related issues, challenges, and conflicts that may arise during the project, utilizing your strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Progress Reporting: Regularly update the construction manager and other stakeholders on project progress, milestones, budget, and any potential risks or delays.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, site inspection reports, and compliance records.

Qualifications:

Construction Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, with a focus on residential & commercial projects. Experience with senior living projects is highly desirable.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage construction teams effectively, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven track record of identifying and resolving construction-related issues and challenges, adapting to changing circumstances, and making sound decisions under pressure.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Safety Awareness: Thorough knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations, with a commitment to promoting and maintaining a safe working environment.
Education: A degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
