About the Role:

The Produce Clerk (Part-time) plays a vital role in ensuring the freshness, quality, and presentation of fruits and vegetables within the store. This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and stocking produce items while maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand. The role requires close attention to detail to identify and remove any damaged or spoiled products, thereby upholding the store’s standards for quality and safety. Additionally, the Produce Clerk collaborates with team members to create attractive displays that enhance the shopping experience and promote sales. Through effective communication and customer service, the Produce Clerk supports a positive environment that encourages repeat business and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 lbs.
Basic knowledge of fruits and vegetables and their storage requirements.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Availability to work flexible part-time hours including weekends and holidays.

Bonus Qualifications:

Previous experience working in a grocery or produce department.
Customer service experience in a retail environment.
Knowledge of Kosher, food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities:

Receive and inspect incoming produce shipments for quality and accuracy.
Stock shelves and displays with fresh fruits and vegetables in an organized and appealing manner.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management to reorder stock as needed.
Remove and properly dispose of any damaged or spoiled produce to maintain quality standards.
Assist customers by answering questions and providing recommendations regarding produce selection.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the produce department according to health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with team members to set up promotional displays and signage.
