Wage Range: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
As a Health & Safety Advisor at CIMS LP, you will be a key contributor towards CIMS success by providing H&S support to the operations/project teams for an outage on a client site while embodying CIMS corporate values of Our People, Our Promise, Our Passion.
You will report to the Director of Health, Safety & Community and be accountable for:
- Reviewing job packages and developing an in-depth understanding of content risks and hazards associated with jobs.
- Coaching site teams regarding health and safety standards and best practices
- Conducting health and safety audits on the site; both compliance and program based.
- Participating in the Daily Toolbox Talks, Safety Meetings.
- Carrying out health and safety objectives and programs on client sites.
- Evaluating health and safety program effectiveness and making recommendations based on findings.
- Participating in all incident/injury investigations and follow-up meetings.
- Leading/facilitating onsite health and safety training
A successful candidate would be an individual who has:
- A bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field or equivalent or a combination of a post-secondary degree/diploma and a post graduate certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Completion of CRSP or NCSO designation or actively working towards the designation.
- 5+ years of experience in a Health and Safety role, with preference given to experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Extensive knowledge and application of environmental health and safety legislation and industry standards.
- Ability to review a variety of sources such as legislation on health and safety standards to become informed of the scope of employee relations cases.
Working conditions you can expect while performing your role include:
- May be required to work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- May be required to work outside of normal work hours on occasion to meet deadlines.
