Overview of Position:
We are searching for a skilled and dependable Carpenter/Laborer to join our construction team to build houses and buildings, renovations on homes and additions to commercial buildings. This role involves performing a variety of carpentry and labor tasks on residential or commercial. This role involves a variety of tasks related to construction and renovation projects, requiring both physical strength and technical skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, woodworking, the operation of heavy equipment and the use of hand and power tools. This position offers opportunities to work on diverse projects including concrete forming, framing, cabinetry, restoration, and installation work, contributing to high-quality building outcomes.
Key Responsibilites:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to execute project plans accurately
- Assist with concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work as needed
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and related tasks with precision and adherence to specifications
- Assemble frameworks for roofs, walls, and other structures according to blueprints or specifications
- Install drywall and ensure proper finishing techniques are applied for a seamless appearance
- Perform restoration tasks including drywall repair and surface preparation
- Install cabinets, flooring, tile, siding, roofing, and other building components
- Operate hand tools, power tools and other construction machinery safely(Genie Lift and Loader with bucket or forks) and efficiently
- Measure and cut materials precisely for various carpentry tasks
- Assist with plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC installations when required
- Handle heavy lifting and material movement safely around the job site
- Participate in construction painting tasks to ensure quality finishes
- Apply caulking, painting, and finishing techniques to ensure quality craftsmanship
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety
Skills & Competencies:
- Proven experience in construction or carpentry; experience in masonry, roofing, or siding is a plus
- Proven experience in construction or related fields such as concrete finishing, carpentry, or restoration work.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and construction estimating is preferred
- Construction experience involving concrete forming or finishing is preferred
- Knowledge of concrete forming, rebar installation, tile laying, flooring installation, cabinetry installation, and restoration work is desirable
- Experience with siding installation or woodworking is a plus
- Competence in assembling structural components such as roofs and walls
- Experience with drywall installation and finishing processes is desirable
- Skills in restoration techniques for various materials and surfaces
- Familiarity with plumbing and electrical systems is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong physical ability for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards
- Valid driver’s license preferred for site travel responsibilities
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

- Framing carpentry: 2 years (preferred)

- Red Seal Journeyman Certificate (preferred)
