Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Automotive Dismantling Technician to join our team. This role involves safely disassembling vehicles for parts salvage and recycling purposes. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hand and power tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, goal-driven, with a proven success in safety. This position offers an opportunity to develop technical skills within the automotive recycling industry, as well as growth within a privately owned company.

Duties

Safely dismantle vehicles by removing parts, including powertrain
Use hand tools and power tools to carefully disassemble vehicles, with the intent to preserve and resell the parts
Identify and categorize salvageable parts for resale or recycling
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area to prevent accidents
Maintain tools, hoist and bay
Assist in the proper disposal of non-recyclable vehicle materials
Maintain accurate records of parts removed and inventory levels
Collaborate with team members to meet daily dismantling targets, with a positive attitude

Requirements

Basic mechanical knowledge or experience working with automotive or industrial equipment preferred
Proficiency / experience in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, power trools including drills, grinders and saws is required
Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment, standing for extended periods and lifting heavy parts when necessary
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to follow safety guidelines and work effectively as part of a team
Communication skills (verbal and written English)
Prior experience in vehicle dismantling or automotive recycling is beneficial but not required

Pay: $18.00-$30.00 per hour
