Office Administration Essentials is a supported Essential Skills for the Workplace (ESWP) program. ESWPs are provincially funded training programs designed to prepare learners for direct entry into employment. Unlike traditional classroom-based programs, ESWPs combine foundational education, technical skills training, and workplace‑focused “power skills” with real‑world experience through employer practicums. The goal is simple: learners are job‑ready and employable by the end of the program.

In addition to technical competencies, the program emphasizes essential workplace skills—what we call power skills—such as accountability, collaboration, communication, problem‑solving, adaptability, time management, and stress management. These skills are consistently identified by employers as critical to workplace success.

As an instructor you will provide instruction and evaluation in the Office Administration, Essentials Skills in the Workplace (ESWP) program. Assignments may include word processing and other computer applications; keyboarding; document formatting; office procedures; oral and written communications; and/or personal management and essential skills training.
