Trails North Powersports is seeking an experienced technician to join our team of powersports enthusiasts in Smithers, BC. Since 1989, Trails North has provided Northern British Columbia with excellent service and high-quality products from Polaris, Honda, Husqvarna, and more.
Responsibilities and Duties
Trails North Powersports is currently seeking a Senior Powersports/Power Equipment Technician to join our team of Powersports enthusiasts in beautiful Smithers, BC.
The position is based on 40 hours per week (Tuesday through Saturday) and pays $34-$40/hr based on experience/training.
Duties of the position include:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and various types of power equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues.
- Inspect machines to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Repair, install, and test components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, exhaust, and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor time for billing and warranty purposes.
- Remain current with industry trends, new technologies, and OEM guidelines through continuous training and professional development opportunities.
Successful candidates must:
- Minimum 3 years of experience servicing and repairing various types of powersports vehicles.
- Proficiency in diagnostic work and competency using diagnostic tools, diagnostic software, and service manuals to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues.
- Thorough knowledge of powersports vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, fuel systems, and drivetrains.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Effective communication skills with customers and team members.
- A passion for powersports and a desire to provide excellent customer service.
- Polaris or Honda training would be an asset.
