Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Business Partner to serve as a strategic partner within our organization's three companies: Heli Source Ltd., Integrated Sensing & Surveillance Inc., and Tucana Aviation Services Ltd. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive HR expertise to align HR initiatives with business objectives, foster a positive work environment, and drive organizational success. This role requires a proactive approach to change management, talent acquisition, and employee relations, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive HR solutions across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Partnership
- Collaborate with management to align HR initiatives with operational goals for each of the three companies
- Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on performance, conduct, accountability, and team development
- Lead culture-building efforts, including climate checks, feedback processes, and leadership accountability
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes including job postings, interviews, pre-employment checks, and offer letters
- Participate in onboarding for new hires across all companies and remote locations
Policy & Compliance
- Maintain and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with the Canada Labour Code
- Prepare and maintain documentation for inspections, audits, and employment law compliance
Employee Relations
- Act as a primary point of contact for employee concerns, complaints, and conflict resolution
- Promote psychological safety and respectful workplace standards
- Support investigations, documentation, and resolution of employee relations matters
HRIS & Records Management
- Maintain accurate employee records in both physical and electronic formats
- Support the transition from manual to digital systems for employee files
- Administer leave management and benefits coordination
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Develop and maintain the HR Policies, Procedures, and Manuals
- Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline HR service delivery
- Collaborate with other administrative functions (finance, safety, IT) to coordinate cross-functional onboarding and offboarding
Educational Requirements:
· High School Diploma
· Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources (Preferred)
Experience Requirements:
· Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
· Minimum 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a federally regulated environment
· Strong knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and federally regulated HR practices is considered an asset
· Proven ability to work independently with high accountability
· Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency in Google Workspace; experience with Sage 50 and HRIS platforms is a strong asset
· Discretion, integrity, and a down-to-earth approach to leadership and employee support
· Able to work with a high degree of confidentiality
Certificates & Licensing Requirements:
· Certified Human Resources Professional Designation (Preferred)
