Production Supervisor – Fabrication
Position Summary
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Production Supervisor – Fabrication is responsible for overseeing fabrication and assembly operations while ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, safety, and compliance with ISO requirements. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can drive daily production targets, support welding and fitting operations, and foster a high-performing, safety-focused work environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure strict safety and regulatory compliance in all fabrication, and repair activities in accordance with Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
- Act as a hands-on working supervisor, leading by example while managing direct reports and assisting the team with welding and fitting operations.
· Lead weekly safety toolbox meetings and actively support hazard identification, incident reporting, and accident investigations within the fabrication area.
· Collaborate with engineering and management teams to provide accurate updates on job scope, critical-path timelines, workforce planning, equipment requirements, and production priorities.
· Complete administrative activities required for effective team management, including participating in interviews, managing time and attendance, supporting employee development, planning daily work schedules, organizing tasks, and documenting completed work.
· Evaluate employee performance regularly while providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, and progressive discipline when required.
· Demonstrate operational flexibility to meet tight deadlines, proactively identify production bottlenecks, and recommend practical technical, layout, or welding solutions to management.
Qualifications & Experience
· Current, valid CWB certification is preferred.
· Minimum of 8 years of hands-on metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing setting.
· Minimum of 5 years of direct supervisory experience in a fabrication shop environment.
· Valid Canadian Red Seal Trade Certification as a Welder or Metal Fabricator is highly preferred and considered a strong asset.
· Certified Health and Safety Representative designation is preferred.
Compensation: $35–$40 per hour
