Full job description

Build the future of major infrastructure with Harbourside Engineering Consultants (HEC). We are looking for an experienced Civil/Structural Technician (Heavy Civil Infrastructure) who is excited by the idea of turning complex engineering concepts into clear, buildable designs. If you enjoy working on large bridges, heavy civil structures, and projects that leave a lasting impact on communities, this role will keep you challenged and engaged every day.

This position is based in our St. John’s NL office, where you will be part of a collaborative and supportive team.

What You'll Be Doing

Creating detailed design drawings for bridges and heavy civil structures using AutoCAD.
Developing accurate fabrication and erection drawings that contractors depend on.
Working closely with engineers and project managers to refine details and ensure design clarity.
Interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications for large scale infrastructure projects.
Assisting with the inspection of bridge and marine structures and associated documentation.
Providing QA construction inspection services on bridge and wharf projects to ensure conformance with design drawings and construction specifications.

What you Bring

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
Experience in structural detailing for bridges or heavy civil projects.
High attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively.
A diploma or degree in drafting, civil engineering technology, or a related field is preferred.
