Full job description

An ideal job for someone who loves working for a small company with lots of variety. In an office like ours you experience a broad gamut of tasks, from answering customer phone calls to entering orders into Sage Accounting, from filing to scheduling deliveries, from data entry to proofreading, from building spreadsheets to ensuring deliveries go out on time.

As a small company everyone on our team is important. We cross train on jobs and cover each other over vacations. As a company we focus on firewood, forestry and landscape products.

If you are more focussed on function than form; if you keep your calendar organized, if you schedule your tire installation before the first snowstorm, if you get great satisfaction making the numbers in your budget balance, if you find yourself correcting spelling and math mistakes, this is the job for you. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

1. Phone reception and making followup phone calls, accurately taking phone messages and orders over the phone, transcribing them to our computer system and delivery schedule, relaying appropriate information to other staff

2. Educating customers on our products and pricing

3. Scheduling deliveries, preparing production/delivery packages, and working with customers, production crew and drivers to ensure things work seamlessly

4. Writing and/or proofreading correspondence with the ability to produce professional reports in a timely manner

5. Providing the administrative supports necessary to keep things functioning smoothly and reducing the administrative load on the Operations Manager

6. Entering and maintaining production and consumption information accurately via tracking spreadsheets

7. General office administration e.g. filing, photocopying, faxing, shredding, scheduling, maintaining phones, faxes, calendars and email, using basic office equipment and ordering supplies

8. Performing basic functions on standard office software including Windows 10, Sage Accounting, word processing, spreadsheets, email, etc.

9. Maintaining your desk and time sheets in a neat, clean and organized manner

10. Assisting with the design and maintenance of our facebook and web pages

11. Properly opening and/or closing the office

Not Required but Preference Given to those who:

1. Can demonstrate exceptional customer service skills

2. Can effectively use spreadsheets to assist in the recording and analysis of production, consumption and inventory information.

3. Have some basic knowledge of firewood and landscape products.

4. Can maintain Facebook and Wix web pages

5. Have good math/spreadsheet skills

This job requires a person with exceptional organizational skills who wants to work in a small, busy office where there is a lot of variety. We are looking for someone who enjoys being very hands on, is focussed on the quality of their work and has a passion for taking care of customers.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
