Overview
We are seeking a semi-retired, versatile handyman and maintenance professional to join our team immediately!

Job description:

***IMMEDIATE HIRE!!!***

Located on over 80 acres of breathtaking scenery, our Terrace Location is a self motivated, nature loving Maintenance Person's dream!

Red Road Recovery - North, is an inpatient Addiction Treatment Facility located 25 minutes outside of Terrace, BC.

We are looking for a proactive, self starting, Maintenance Person to join our team!

The Maintenance Person is responsible for providing maintenance support and upkeep to the building and property at Red Road Recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and upkeep Main Centre in good working order

2. Change light bulbs, fix toilets, washer/dryer, door handles, clean drain spouts, clean out gutters.

3. Use truck and water tank to fill up cistern in lower parking lot

4. Take garbage and recycle to bins @ bottom of driveway

5. All exterior maintenance

6. Drive residents to appointments; doctors, eye exams, banks etc.

7. Transport residents and staff using side-by-side

8. Arrange Firewood delivery and stack firewood

9. Transport Firewood for sweat lodges

10. Monitor, maintain, and refill propane tanks

11. Oil change on company lawn equipment such as lawn mower, weed whacker and snow blower.

12. Arrange maintenance on company vehicles including but not limited to oil changes, tire changes, and regular maintenance

13. Keep fuel topped up in vehicles and jerry cans for equipment

14. Assemble shelving kits, shed kits, furniture, and other items as required.

15. Loading and unloading drinking water jugs

16. Fire Control including cleaning up brush

17. Softscape landscaping – maintaining a clean and presentable look of the centre and property.

18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Winter Responsibilities:

1. Take solar lights in from driveway.

2. Plow and salt drive way

3. Shovel walk ways

4. Clear snow that falls from roof (front and back)

5. Clear snow from deck and exits

Summer Responsibilities:

1. Mow Lawn

2. Weed Whack

3. Plant and water gardens/planters

4. Rake Leaves

5. Trim bushes and tree’s along driveway and around house

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
2-4 years of experience in an maintenance role.
Mechanical knowledge
General handyman knowledge
Must be able to work independently and efficiently
Must be able to carry 50 lbs
Ability to stand/walk for long hours
Ability to take direction and have good communication with supervisors
Must be able to read and understand instructions, manuals and plans
Must have a valid drivers license and must be confident in operating machinery and driving (ex: side-by-side, truck, van, ride on lawn mower)
Involves being outdoors in rain or shine
Criminal Record Check
