About the Role
As a Garde Manger Cook at Long Beach Lodge Resort, you’ll take the lead on the cold side of the kitchen - crafting fresh salads, stunning desserts, and artisanal pizzas with care and creativity. This is a key position for setting the tone and consistency of each guest’s dining experience. A strong team player with solid fundamentals on this station brings tremendous value to the overall kitchen flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and plate items for the pizza, salad, and dessert stations with attention to detail and consistency
- Ensure mise en place is maintained and refreshed throughout service
- Execute proper preparation, handling, and storage of ingredients to meet food safety and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all prep and service areas
- Assist with menu prep, specials, and service support across other stations as needed
- Communicate with kitchen leadership on inventory, prep needs, and service timing
- Uphold kitchen OH&S and FOODSAFE standards
- Contribute to a safe, positive, and team-oriented work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of professional kitchen experience (garde manger or wood-fired pizza experience is a bonus)
- FOODSAFE Level 1
- A strong sense of pride in plating and presentation
- Energetic, dependable, and ready to support your team
- Excellent knife skills and a keen eye for freshness and detail
- Flexible, coachable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Red Seal Certification an asset but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and be active for up to 10 hours per shift
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Additional Requirements
- Criminal Record Check: Required prior to start date.
- Reference Check: Two professional references will be contacted.
- Driver’s Abstract: Required for roles involving use of company vehicles or driving duties.
- Signed Staff Manual Agreement: required as part of onboarding, confirming understanding of workplace expectations and policies
