As we expand our career development and employment-support programming, we are looking for an experienced Bilingual Career Workshop Facilitator / Career Coach to deliver practical, engaging, and results-oriented career workshops for job seekers, students, recent graduates, newcomers, and professionals considering career transitions.
This role is ideal for someone who understands both the job seeker’s perspective and employer expectations, and who can translate career concepts into practical strategies participants can immediately apply.
Position Overview
The Bilingual Career Workshop Facilitator / Career Coach will be responsible for delivering career-focused workshops in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
Workshop topics will focus on practical job-search and career-development skills, including resume writing, interviews, LinkedIn, networking, job-search strategy, workplace communication, career planning, and employer expectations.
This is not a role for simply reading from prepared presentation slides.
The successful candidate should be able to independently facilitate an entire workshop, engage participants, answer questions, provide practical examples, and adapt the session based on participant needs.
Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional career development and job-search workshops in both English and Mandarin Chinese
- Independently facilitate workshops, seminars, small-group sessions, and career development events
- Explain career concepts in a practical, clear, and easy-to-understand manner
- Lead interactive discussions, exercises, case studies, and Q&A sessions
- Provide practical examples related to resumes, interviews, LinkedIn, networking, and job searching
- Help participants identify weaknesses in their current job-search approach and develop practical improvement strategies
- Provide guidance on how employers and recruiters evaluate candidates
- Adapt workshop delivery based on participant background, career stage, industry, and employment goals
- Support resume reviews, interview preparation, mock interviews, and career planning activities when required
- Collaborate with the Pioneer Group team to develop, review, and improve workshop materials
- Update workshop content based on changes in hiring practices, recruiting trends, and employer expectations
- Provide feedback on participant needs and recurring employment challenges observed during workshops
- Maintain a professional, engaging, inclusive, and supportive workshop environment
- Assist with special career-related workshops, networking events, employer sessions, or other professional development programming as needed

Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Fluent or professional-level proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English
- Ability to independently deliver a complete professional workshop in either Mandarin or English
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills in both languages
- Strong understanding of career development and modern job-search strategies
- Practical knowledge of resume writing, interview preparation, LinkedIn, networking, and job applications
- Ability to explain complex career concepts clearly and practically
- Strong public-speaking and group-facilitation skills
- Ability to confidently answer participant questions rather than relying entirely on prepared materials
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional, organized, responsible, and dependable
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the Pioneer Group team
- Understanding of Canadian hiring practices and employer expectations

- Experience delivering workshops, webinars, seminars, or professional training sessions
- Experience developing presentation decks, exercises, worksheets, or training materials
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Knowledge of LinkedIn recruiting and professional networking strategies
- Experience conducting mock interviews
- Experience supporting job seekers across different industries and professional levels
- Knowledge of the Greater Toronto Area / Canadian employment market

Candidates must be comfortable:
- Delivering a full workshop in Mandarin
- Delivering a full workshop in English
- Switching between Mandarin and English when needed
- Answering participant questions in either language
- Explaining professional and employment-related concepts naturally in both languages
Basic conversational Mandarin or English is not sufficient for this role.
Work Arrangement
This position is offered on a part-time or contract basis.
