We are looking for a Real Estate Lawyer who is ambitious, ready to step outside the box, and become a key member of our firm. The ideal lawyer is open-minded and willing to buy in to the values of our mission statement to Educate, Protect & Expedite.
Position: Real Estate Lawyer
Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 + Annual Bonus
Expected Start date: As soon as possible

- Meet deadlines for tasks and projects.
Day to Day Tasks:
- Morning (Triage): Checking emails and prioritizing tasks, often reviewing overnight communications as needed & planning your day to ensure client service and owners quota expectations are both met and not compromised.
- Mid-Day (Meetings & Deals): Participating in meetings and calls regarding deal strategy, structuring, or contractual negotiations.
- Afternoon (Drafting & Research): Deep work on drafting legal documents, researching, or reviewing regulatory filings
- Reviewing Agreements: Analyzing the Agreement of Purchase and Sale to ensure terms are fair and protecting client interests and in other service product areas deemed necessary
- Conducting Title Searches: Examining the title to ensure it is free from liens, encumbrances, or legal disputes.
- Drafting Documents: Preparing closing documents, including the Deed/Transfer of Land and mortgage documents.
- Arranging Title Insurance: Protecting the buyer and lender against future title defects.
- Calculating Fees: Creating the Statement of Adjustments, which outlines the final closing funds, including land transfer tax, property tax adjustments, and deposits.
- reparing Documentation: Drafting the deed and other required documentation to officially transfer ownership.
- Managing Payouts: Handling the payoff of the existing mortgage and distributing sale proceeds.
- Due Diligence: Investigating outstanding property taxes, utilities, and potential zoning issues.
- Dispute Resolution: Providing legal advice to resolve issues that arise during the transaction.
- Client Sign Up Process: Frictionless, value-driven, and transparent journey that requires minimal effort from the client. It immediately reassures them that they made the right choice, reduces the time-to-value, and builds immediate trust.
- Must attend all corporate or sales events for networking purposes as required
- Other tasks/projects assigned
Qualifications:
- "Must hold a valid, active licence in good standing to practise law in Ontario as issued by the Law Society of Ontario." The ideal candidate would have a positive, inspirational, and motivational approach, always eager to make a meaningful impact with their clients and professional associates.
- Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- 3+ years work experience at a real estate law practice, high volume preferred
- Must have substantial experience in Real Estate Law but not limited to residential, commercial, private lending, renewals, discharges, power of sales both the mortgagor and mortgagee sides.
- Must have understanding & experience of basic corporate transactions but not limited to Incorporation & Organization, Maintenance of Corporate Records, Annual Compliance
- Considered an Asset if experienced in Estate Planning, Will Preparations, Small Claims and Litigation.
- Goal-Driven Focus: Their desire to hit targets and/or completed tasks/ assignment/ projects that outweighs any temporary hesitation or fear of social awkwardness

- Effective communication involves conveying your message clearly, concisely and accurately with an advanced level of the English Language
- Technical Proficiency, must type a min of 50 words/minute and advanced in excel with MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel, Outlook, Google Chrome, etc.
- Must own a vehicle and have access to it at all times.
- Must have excellent technology skills and advanced in using all Microsoft Suite Software's including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday from 9:00am 5:30pm
- Saturday & Sundays as required to service clients (i.e., wills, POA’s, real estate closings, etc.) or attend corporate or sales events for networking
- Must be willing and able to provide remote service for clients who require such services
- Must be able to work after hours, evenings and weekends as needed to reach deadlines and services clients and 3rd party associates
- Must take initiate and be able to stay after 5:30pm if there are urgent legal duties that are required.
- Maintaining a flexible schedule for evenings and weekends is required to ensure deadlines are met
- Working remotely is not available.
