Lead Carpenter / Site Supervisor
Build More Than Homes. Build Something You’re Proud Of.
Kooger Custom Homes & Renovations is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter / Site Supervisor who takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship, enjoys leading others, and wants to be part of a company that is continually improving how custom homes and renovations are built.
We do not just build houses or renovate spaces. We help bring our clients’ dreams to life. Our work has a direct impact on families, their homes, and the way they live every day. That is something we take seriously.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on carpentry and leading projects from concept to completion. We are looking for someone who can organize a site, solve problems, communicate clearly, lead a team, and make sure the details are done right.
If you are a natural problem solver, an organized leader, and someone who believes the small details matter just as much as the big picture, Kooger Custom Homes & Renovations could be the right fit for you.
About the Role
As a Lead Carpenter / Site Supervisor, you will be a vital link in the construction process. You will help take drawings, designs, and concepts and turn them into finished spaces that our clients can enjoy for years.
What works on paper does not always work perfectly in the field, so your creativity, quick thinking, and ability to find practical solutions will be essential.
You will spend your time performing onsite carpentry, organizing daily site operations, coordinating trades, leading carpenters and helpers, and keeping projects moving forward safely, efficiently, and professionally.
We are looking for someone who is confident but humble, proud of their craft, and able to recognize that great projects are built by a team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead residential renovation, addition, and custom home projects from start to finish
- Perform high-quality rough and finish carpentry
- Coordinate and supervise carpenters, helpers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Organize schedules, materials, trades, and daily site activity
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project details
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional job site
- Help ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Identify challenges early and proactively develop solutions
- Communicate clearly with clients, team members, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute ideas for improvement
- Teach and mentor other team members
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
- Represent Kooger Custom Homes & Renovations with professionalism and integrity
What Success Looks Like
- Are honest, accountable, and highly trustworthy
- Take ownership of the work in front of you
- Can confidently guide a project from concept to completion
- Take initiative and seek solutions rather than waiting for direction
- Lead by example and support the growth of others on the team
- Are passionate about craftsmanship and continuous learning
- Care about the small details and do not let things slide
- Understand that great projects are built through teamwork
- Balance quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction
- Communicate before small problems become bigger problems
- Stay organized in a constantly changing construction environment
- Can keep the big picture in view while still caring about the details
- Understand the importance of work-life balance — when you are at work, be present and engaged, and when you are at home, be present and engaged there as well
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of carpentry experience
- Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of residential construction and renovation practices
- Experience with custom homes, additions, and high-quality renovations
- Strong rough and finish carpentry skills

- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage schedules, budgets, deadlines, and site priorities
- Confidence working with clients, trades, suppliers, and internal team members
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Willingness to learn construction management software
- Buildertrend experience is an asset
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
