Job description

As an integral part of the drilling operations team, the blaster is responsible for installing explosives in blast holes according to the company’s blasting plans.

Main tasks

Respect safety standards at all times;
Inspect the work environment at the beginning and end of the shift;
Complete the equipment inspection card (if applicable);
Read and understand plans and specifications;
Handle, transport, and store explosives (and accessories);
Load explosives into blast holes;
Unblock blast holes using a compressed air hose when necessary;
Any other related tasks.

Requirements

Have a high school diploma or other equivalent degree;
Underground hard rock common core in Ontario;
Hold a valid explosive license;
Fluent in English is required.
