Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Utility Line Locator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately identifying and marking underground utility lines to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, proficiency with heavy equipment, and the ability to work safely in various outdoor environments. The Utility Line Locator plays a critical role in preventing damage to underground utilities and maintaining safety standards across projects.

Responsibilities

Locate and mark underground utility lines using specialized equipment and techniques
Interpret utility maps, blueprints, and construction plans to determine the location of underground infrastructure
Use M-scope line locator to identify Gas, Hydro and Water Lines (experience with Rigid SR-20 is an asset)
Use offset measurements and shovel to uncover the city water shut
Conduct safety inspections of work areas and ensure compliance with safety protocols
Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate excavation activities around identified utilities
Maintain detailed records of utility locations and work performed for project documentation
Assist with maintenance and calibration of locating equipment as needed

Skills

Use of line locating technology
Experience with excel
Strong understanding of underground utility systems and safety procedures
Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and maps accurately
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills for precise location marking
Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions
Valid drivers license

Pay: $32.00-$37.00 per hour
