Salary Range: $71,846 to $115,129 annually; normal starting salary between $78,872 and $85,897 annually, dependent on relevant education and experience.

Based on operational requirements, this on-call position may be assigned to support the Practical Nursing program, the Health Care Assistant program, or both.

The duties and responsibilities of a Vocational Instructor include continuing excellence in one’s field, instructional and professional duties, professional development and service.

Instructional duties may include any or all of the following: instructional (teaching assignments); course and program preparation and revision; practicum placement; student contact; student advising; evaluation and marking of student work and other functions related to instruction.

Professional duties may include any or all of the following: curriculum development, student registration and pre registration duties.

Professional development is activity intended to promote teaching excellence, subject area competence and technical competence in the area of professional or instructional expertise.

Service may include any or all of the following: school visitations; participation on OC committees; attendance at articulation meetings; representing OC at other function; administrative and other duties

A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. A Master’s Degree is preferred. A Diploma in Nursing may be considered with relevant experience.

Current active registration with the BCCNM is required.

An Instructor’s Diploma is preferred, and will be required following appointment in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Five or more years experience in Acute, Long Term and /or Community Care is required. Experience in pediatrics, mental health or obstetrics may be an asset.
