Woodhouse Contracting is looking for an experienced Commercial Carpenter to join our growing team.

About the Role
As a Commercial Carpenter, you will perform a variety of carpentry and construction activities on commercial and institutional projects throughout Waterloo Region and surrounding areas.
This position is ideal for an experienced carpenter who is comfortable working independently, leading portions of a project, and collaborating with multiple trades to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Carpentry & Construction
- Complete commercial and institutional carpentry projects safely and efficiently
- Perform framing, drywall installation, finishing carpentry, door and hardware installation, and general construction activities
- Install hollow metal frames, commercial doors, and related hardware
- Complete renovations, tenant fit-ups, repair work, and specialty construction projects
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail
Blueprint Reading & Project Execution
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and project plans
- Accurately layout and execute work according to project requirements
- Coordinate work activities with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades
Site Leadership & Teamwork
- Support project planning and daily site activities
- Mentor less experienced workers and apprentices when required
- Help maintain productivity, quality, and project schedules
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients
Safety & Quality
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Maintain compliance with Ontario Occupational Health & Safety legislation
- Conduct work in accordance with company quality standards
- Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are properly maintained and used safely
Required Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of construction experience
- Strong carpentry background in commercial construction, renovations, or institutional projects
- Experience with framing, drywall, doors and hardware, and finishing work
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Valid Class G Licence & clean driver's abstract
