Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Lactation Consultant to provide expert support and education to new mothers and families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, nursing, and medical terminology, with the ability to deliver personalized lactation guidance within a hospital or clinical setting. This role involves collaborating with healthcare teams to promote breastfeeding success and improve maternal and infant health outcomes.

Duties

Assess and support mothers experiencing breastfeeding challenges, offering tailored lactation plans.
Educate patients on breastfeeding techniques, positioning, and latch methods to ensure effective feeding.
Document patient interactions accurately using case management systems and electronic health records.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pediatric dentists.
Provide guidance on breastfeeding equipment, storage, and hygiene practices.
Conduct follow-up consultations to monitor progress and address ongoing concerns.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, acute care practices, and pediatric health standards related to lactation.
Assist in developing educational materials for patients and staff regarding breastfeeding best practices.
Utilize organizational skills to manage caseloads efficiently while maintaining high-quality patient care.

Skills

Experience in hospital or acute care settings with a focus on pediatrics or nursing is preferred.
Strong communication skills essential for patient education and team collaboration.
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to lactation, pediatrics, and maternal health.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively through case management systems.

Pay: $26.13-$77.37 per hour
