Full job description

Full-time Branch Clerk
Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM

About Us:

Clark Freightways is a leading BC-based freight carrier, privately owned and operated since 1957. Consistent practice of our founding values of Integrity, Accountability and Teamwork has helped us build our reputation as a reliable freight carrier, and a fair employer.

We are looking for a Branch Clerk in the operations to join our team at our Kelowna Terminal. The successful candidate will be responsible for direct communication with external and internal customers; responds to inquiries and/or directs to the appropriate department; and enters and maintains accurate shipment information into the Transportation Management System.

What You’ll Do:

Forwards requests for information to appropriate departments; including but not limited to Customer Service, Rates, Claims and Accounting.
Processes Pickup and Delivery and Inter Terminal Manifests originating from own Branch.
Transfers information from waybills, manifests, and dispatches trips between Agents in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
Books and records delivery appointments.
Keys manual Proof of Delivery’s (POD) for shipments delivered on the original Bill of Lading (BOL).
Prepares and attaches truck mail to outbound running orders daily.
Maintains accurate and complete records of all Branch Cash Freight and prepares bank deposits.
Maintains office equipment; including calling service technicians.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

High School diploma; courses in Business Administration or a related field, with one (1) years’ experience in an office environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Freight Industry experience preferred.
Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) preferred.
Solid knowledge of the geography of British Columbia.
Intermediate level use of Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
Advanced level typing speed and accuracy.
Positive attitude that communicates job related issues with a constructive, problem-solving approach.
Excellent communications skills, both written and oral, in order to be effective in requesting and delivering information.
Highly organized with a proven ability to effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime as required.
